Remember Ramos W42? It is a 9.4 inch tablet with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution that powered by Exynos 4412 quad-core processors, similar to the one that Samsung used on Galaxy S3 smartphone. What makes it interesting is that you’re only need to spend $247 in order to take Ramos W42 home. That is even cheaper than contract version of Galaxy S3, not to mention that you’re not required to sign on any contract deal for the tablet.
Our friends at Liliputing are lucky enough to get a demo unit from PandaWill, the creator of Ramos W42 tablet. Off course it doesn’t take much time for them to run couple of test in order to see how powerful the tablet is. Although they don’t have time to do real-life battery test or any other system performance comparison, Ramos W42 manage to impress me after it’s benchmark test result shows that it is one of the fastest Android device available around.
Off course it is not too surprising since Ramos W42 now use Exynos 4412 ARM Cortex A9 processors that clocked at 1.4GHz and Mali 400 GPU with quad-core processors. But i am quite relieved that the benchmark test shows something that i am expecting from such kind of device. Based on my experience, cheap Chinese tablet are always come with manipulated ad. But it seems like that won’t be the case for Ramos W42.
Aside from it’s excellent quad-core processors, Ramos W42 is also packed with 9.4 inch IPS display panel that able to handle maximum 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. It is said that the tablet offer a very decent viewing angles. All texts and pictures looks a bit sharper than those that displayed on 10.1 inch tablet with similar resolution.
But on the bad sides, Ramos W42 touch screen is not as responsive as any other tablet. According to Liliputing, it fails to register desired letter in many different occasion. Talk about battery life, Ramos W42 should be able to survive for up to 7 hours. Standard connectivity features like WiFi and Bluetooth, microUSB, and microSD card slot are all available. But this tablet has no HDMI output port.
