The New iPad is recently reported for both overheating and poor WiFi signal issues, but that’s not stop the tablet to become the number one product at Consumer Report list. Few weeks ago, we whispered a news about New iPad unit that quickly become warmer after less than an hour of usage. Apple customer support explained that everything goes right on their thermal monitoring system, so it seems like this overheating problem looks normal for them.
Moreover, a group that reviews broad range of services and products, including cars and electronics, is recently conduct a heat test to Android tablets. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is one tablet that included on that test. The result is quite shocking. It is said that similar heat problem was found on the Android tablets, but none of them were reported until now.
According to Consumer Report’s list, New iPad’s battery drained slowly when a high demanding graphics game like “Infinity Blade II” played on full brightness mode. This is indicate that it is indeed true that both Retina Display and new A5X processors consume huge amount of power.
Consumer Report is already make a buzzer around the web when they announce that New iPad is making more heat than it’s predecessors. Another research group noted that New iPad reach 47 Celsius heat in just 45 minutes when the tablet is used to play an intense action game. However, that is still hotter than it’s predecessors. Later, the group also noted that the tablet will become hotter with maximum brightness level on a 90 degrees Fahrenheit day. The tablet manage to achieve 122 degrees Fahrenheit temperature within 45 minutes of intense playing of action game. On the similar conditions, iPad 2′s temperature is only rise up to 112 Fahrenheit.
Consumer report also noted that Galaxy tablets were reach 121 degrees Fahrenheit on the similar test, while Asus Transformer Prime manage to clinch 117 degree temperature.
Despite all of those issues, Apple is manage to sold more than 3 million units of New iPad in just three days! But it seems like this condition won’t last long because Google is recently reported to prepare a new Online store to start selling Android tablet PC directly to customers. The giant search company hope that they can compete against Apple and Amazon with this strategy.
However, Consumer Report sounds optimistic with New iPad’s future. It is said that this tablet has “achieved the highest score we’ve ever recorded for color accuracy in a tablet”. So far, lot of online reviewers are agree with them. There are lot of positive reviews about the New iPad. It might not looks completely different from iPad 2, but this tablet is definitely slimmer and able to work on faster 4G LTE network.
The tablet is now available in both Verizon and AT&T. Latest report suggest that Verizon’s New iPad is able to work on AT&T 3G network using the available micro SIM card slot. There still no words from both carrier about this issue, but we believe that they will figure out something to deal with this problem in the near future.
