Aakash 2 tablet was introduced as the successor of the previous Aakash tablet, although it is still considered as low-level android tablet. But that doesn’t mean that this tablet doesn’t deserve an Android 4.0 update guys. Suneet Singh Tulis, the CEO of Datawind, said that within six or eights weeks after the global release of the tablet, Android 4.0 update should be available for download. Tuli doesn’t explain that the update will be available a OTA or released on the Datawind’s official website.
The first Aakash was soon make a buzzer on the web after Indian government decide to buy the tablet, subsidize, and release it for $35 to help local teacher and student in their class-based learning process. The next version of the tablet, Aakash 2, is packed with improved hardware specs, but it still considered as low-level android tablet. It is powered by a 800MHz single-core processors, 256MB RAM, and 2GB internal data storage. Datawind said that they will release another dual-core version this year and the tablet also in process to receive a contract in school at Philadelphia.
It is surprising that Datawind determine to bring the Ice Cream Sandwich to the tablet, despite the fact that it only packed with 256MB RAM. On the other side, even Google decide no to bring the latest Android OS to the Nexus One, an android smartphone with 1GHz processors and 512MB RAM.
What do you think about this guys? Do you believe that Datawind will manage to compile the code of Android 4.0 update for Aakash 2 tablet? Please let us know.
