Sony is recently announce that both Sony Tablet P and Tablet S will receive the new ICS update soon enough. Yes, you read it right ladies and gentlemen. The first clam shell tablet and dual-screen in the world is finally confirmed to taste the Ice Cream Sandwich.
This news is retrieved from Sony Japan, which already made an official press release stated that Android 4.0 update for Tablet P and Tablet P should start on April this year. It might not said the word “Android 4.0″ or “Ice Cream Sandwich” in a specific way, but the company implies that this new OS update will include some new features, including the “Small Apps”. Although it might has a funny name, but we found that it might become quite useful. You can run a new app on top of your current running apps! This is mean that you can suddenly launch a web browser during your android gaming activity.
Aside from issued Android 4.0 update, Sony is also plan to release new version of Tablet P with gray color and interchangeable front and back cover. Each of those part will cost you $60. However, this variant of the tablet will only available in the company’s country of origin.
Sony Tablet P was announced for the first time back on December last year. It was currently run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The thing is that due to it’s dual screen feature, this tablet is almost looks like Sony’s competitor in gaming console industry, the Nintendo 3DS.
