Androids will crush iPad. Yes, we know. Lot of people and experts come out with such kind of prediction soon after they find out that Android OS has already become the world most adapted mobile platform. But, does Androids tablet really doing that good that they finally manage to catch up iPad?
In terms of shipments, the answer is once again, yes. According to experts over financial analyst organization known as IDC, Androids will crush iPad by the end of 2015. Once again, we talk about shipments figures here. They also predict that Androids will surpass other products like BlackBerry and Windows 8 tablet as well!
IDC’s claims is based on the success of Amazon Kindle Fire. This $199 7.0 inch tablet has already become the world’s best-selling Android tablet and that makes customer’s awareness of the category of this kind of products is increasing too, despite the fact that most of Kindle Fire shipments are done inside US region up until now.
Sadly, when it comes to revenue, the story is completely different. IDC touting that Apple and it’s iPad will still become world leader with the most percentage of market share. IDC predict that iOS will able to maintain it’s top position until the next four years.
Personally, we don’t think that Androids tablet will do that well against iOS.
First we’ve never seen any Android tablet that manage to do “that good” in the market. Even Samsung, which is pretty much “rule” the android tablet market, said that they’re not doing very well. So, we can conclude that things aren’t even go to well even for the biggest player in the competition.
The second major factor why Androids are not stand a chance against iOS pricing. The difference between two devices is now only razor-thin. The new iPad, which touts new Retina Display and quad-core GPU, is currently priced exactly the same as it’s predecessor. Apple also decided to cut the price of iPad 2. Imagine how’s that will change the market condition.
On the other hand, best selling Android tablet, Amazon Kindle Fire, is currently not aim to build a device with better hardware specs. The company is currently look to build better environments and taking the most revenue from the sales of apps, games, musics, movies, and all of those stuffs they offered at the Appstore. Apple is also working on the same way. Unfortunately, we don’t see other company than Apple and Amazon that focused on such great environment. So, Androids will crush iPad? Think again.
