We believe that CES 2012 will be an interesting event. There must be lot of manufacturer come out with high-end tablet, in order to anticipate Apple’s iPad 3 which will be launched soon this year. Asus is one of those manufacturer. The Taiwan based company will reveal 7 inch MeMO and the improved version of Transformer Prime, TFT700T.
Eee Pad Transformer Prime is one of the most powerful android tablet that available around. It is currently powered with Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processors. There’s also an extra fully sized keyboard dock that will add users productivity and increase the device’s battery lifetime. According to one of the lead tablet analyst, Sascha Segan, Transformer Prime beats the iPad and even some laptops on specs. She also mention that this tablet is the finest Honeycomb tablet that currently available. On the other side, Asus was officially announced that Android 4.0 update for Transformer Prime will be available on January 2012.
Meanwhile, Transformer TFT700T will feature 10.1 inch Super IPS+ panel with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution display, complete with the protection from Corning Gorilla Glass. TFT700T carry bigger 2.0 megapixels front camera for HD quality video call. The rest of it’s internal specs is still the same with 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU and 64 GB internal data storage. The back cover is redesigned to achieve better WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS performance.
MeMO tablet should be a perfect device for pure entertainment and personal use. It is packed in small size with 7 inch IPS display. It is able to handle 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. Deep inside MeMO‘s hood, there’s 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8260 CPU, alongside with 1 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory. WiFi and Bluetooth are fully supported. On it’s back side, there’s 5 megapixels primary camera that capable of 1080p HD video recording. There’s also 1.2 megapixels front facing camera for video call purpose.
Either MeMO and TFT700T will be shipped with the latest Android 4.0. Asus currently asked around $599 to $699 for a TFT700T unit. It’s still unclear how much that they will asked for MeMO. Anyway, both of these tablets should be available in the market anytime around Q2 2012 and head to North America first.
