Asus Technical Manager Talked About Transformer Prime ICS Update Problem

Last week, Asus officially announce the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Transformer Prime tablet. Previously, the Taiwanese promised that Android 4.0 update for Transformer Prime will start to roll out on January 12. This is mean that it start few days earlier from the planned schedule and that’s why everybody are happy to hear the announcement from Asus. Unfortunately, not all Transformer Prime users are able to taste Ice Cream Sandwich on their tablet. According to XDA Developer forum, the tablet prevent users from downloading the new OS and come out with some serial number error.

Asus is completely aware of this problem. Their technical-marketing manager, Gary Key has posted some steps to dealing with this problem on company’s official forum.

Key suggest all of Transformer Prime owners that have problem with ICS update to conduct factory reset on their tablet. When it’s done, users should turn on the WiFi feature for 15 minutes and let the tablet to synchronize with Asus’s servers. The update should appear automatically then. If it isn’t, users can check it manually from the settings menu. Key also noted that if none of these steps worked, users should send him a private message at company’s forum, complete with the serial number error.

Gary Key also noted the screen lockup and corruption problem that happen in some Transformer Prime unit, the moment after ICS update process completed. He said that Asus is finally able to replicate the problem and currently deal with this issue. The company will also contacting Prime users that already report the problem, he added.
