It seems that there is no end when talking about one of the legendary games from Rockstar that has just been ported to mobile devices, the Grand Theft Auto III or GTA III. This is of course because of the extreme popularity of the GTA series. Up till now, the GTA series still becomes one of the most expected game around the world. This popularity has been gained since the appearance of the GTA III ten years ago on Sony Playstation 2, introducing the first GTA game that has 3rd person camera view and 3D graphics. So, it can be said that the GTA III was the pioneer of the GTA series games, since the original GTA and GTA II were just ordinary games at that time due to their bad graphics and camera view. Now, the GTA III appears again for both Android and iOS devices to commemorate its tenth anniversary.
Well now, what will you find on the ported legendary game? It can be said that there is not much improvement from the original. They mobile version has a bit better graphics than the PS2 version. However, the major change is not in the graphics, but in the new control system. As you already know, all Android and iOS devices have touch-screen input method, meaning that like it or not, Rockstar has to put touch interface to the GTA III mobile version. This can be something good or bad. It is good because it can give you different experience when you play the game and it is bad because of course touch input method has never been better than physical controller input method.
The soundtracks and the dialogues of the game are still good as the original. So, you do not have to worry in this part. This game also brings nostalgic moments for those who had played the game ten years ago, since the storyline is still the same. Unfortunately, since there is not much improvement in the game, it means that the game is just as like as a ten years old game. That is the only let down in the GTA III mobile version besides the touch interface that requires the player to adapt. So, after all, the game score is about 85 out of 100.
