US$32 Tablet PC
Hmm…I think the headline is really nice. Yes, one of the richest man in India, Azim Premji with its company, Wipro, will release “reachable” tablet computer bringing iPad-style tech to the country.
This device will be the “economic-size” of iPad. How about the price? Really really cheap, only US$32.
This tablet is aimed for the nation’s poor society and schoolchildren. Now, this tablet is under development in the Electronic City campus in Bangalore.
Wipro said that the tablet will featured with nanotechnology and miniaturized component to push down the power and overall cost.
As we know, so many tablets on the market now, starts from Apple’s iPad, Blackberry Playbook, Motorola XOOM until the latest Galaxy tab and many children can’t use the technology, because it’s too expensive.

“It’s very difficult. The cost of every single element has to be reduced without compromising the quality.” said Ashok Jhunjhunwala, of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

This is a very noble job by Azim Premji. I wish I can try the specs. Hmm….Keep up our updates about this issue :)
